The Havenwoods BID and our employers are recognizing that the face of our workforce is changing. As the future generations enter the workforce we are seeing more people of color, young professionals and people of very diverse backgrounds join our companies.
Building these productive working relationships between people with vastly different socio-economic backgrounds and races can present unexpected challenges. The Havenwoods BID in collaboration with the YWCA and the Menomonee River Valley BID creates a safe space to have conversations about race in the workplace with our business leaders. While these conversations can be uncomfortable, our Building Equitable Leaders training series is a valuable professional development experience for HR professionals, CEO’s, managers, etc.
The workshop series is facilitated by two highly respected professionals in the field of racial justice, Martha Barry and Paula Penebaker. This 6-week program helps leaders understand the impacts of race from a historical perspective to modern day. Participants will leave with a better understanding of multicultural issues faced by employees to foster better engagement.
